Co-Owner and Programme & Play Coordinator!

When I think of young children my vision is watching them explore, learn and play...and most importantly for me I see this happening outside amongst nature.  I see children having the opportunities to wonder and explore the natural beauty in their environments.  As a mum myself I have had the joy and pleasure in watching my two boys grow into confident, happy and compassionate young people, and I know that they have had the experiences that I value and find incredibly important.  Having studied and earned the honour of becoming a fully registered teacher I have loved every step of working alongside our young children and watching them learn through their own play.  I have treasured the journey with them and I look forward to many, many more years ahead.

Co-Owner and Programme & Play Coordinator!

Hi!  As a working mum of two busy boys (Intermediate and College age), an Early Childhood Teacher for the past 20+++ years, and being in the Home Based childcare sector locally in Howick since 2003 I absolutely love what I do!  I love to be able to support other parents in their journey through parenting & meeting their childcare needs, as well as supporting the Educators in the wonderful, and important work they are doing in their homes!

Community is important to me and creating 'Connections' within the community is the basis of all that we offer.  I enjoy facilitating parenting programmes, professional development for anyone that is involved with a child and children, and through that feel that I can (hopefully) support our adults, which in turn will then ripple out to provide a strong start for our children.

I can't wait to meet you soon!

Office Administrator 'Extraordinaire'!

Hi there, I'm Louise and I'm the Office Aministrator here at Connections In The Home.  I'm a mum of two young children.   My daughter attends a local Primary School in Howick, while my very busy boy is in the care of a local In Home Educator.  After many years working in the home based sector, as well as using it as a parent I am a believer in all that it offers!  I can often be heard telling my story to families when they call.

My role here is anything to do with the database, paperwork, enrolments and payments.  I am here to greet you when you call or pop in too!  I look forward to chatting soon!

Programme & Play Coordinator

My name is Debbie and I'm a wife and a mum of 3 young children.  I have been nurturing, encouraging and teaching children in Early Childhood for the past 16 years, and when I am not doing this I love to garden, tend to my bee hives, and create.  I believe, as an educator, whether you are qualified,  or a parent at home, it is really important to provide our children with a truly realistic and natural upbringing, teaching them all that you can about life.  Today, children are growing up in a fast paced world, where technology and a need to 'have it now' is common place, so that's where my role as Programme & Play Coordinator is so exciting.  In this position with Connections I am able to take the time to provide the children with experiences that can stimulate excitement and curiosity, build upon their interests and knowledge, while at the same time allowing them to have fun.

Programme & Play Coordinator

Hello!  I'm Melissa and I'd love to share a little about myself.  I live in Cockle Bay with my son Liam and partner Neil.  I have worked with children for nearly 14 years, starting my first position in a Learning Centre back in 2001, 4½ years later I had my son Liam.  I became an ‘In Home Educator’ for a period of time before moving onto various other positions working my way to become Team Leader in a local centre.

The time had come for a perfect change in my life, and ‘Connections In The Home’ made that happen for me in Sept 2014.  I’m really enjoying meeting with, and getting to know the educators and the children in their care, their individual personalities and working alongside all involved in Connections In The Home. I look forward to meeting you too!
